Number 1

Number 1

Look!  We’re at number 1 in the “Secondary Education” category on Amazon!  Which means the book is selling almost three copies a century, but it’s still more than the 99 other books on this chart.  We’re also working on a brand new cover for this book.  I’ll post the cover in the next blog if, I remember.  It’s lovely :o)

I’m hoping to see the new Downton Abbey film.  I haven’t been to the cinema since about 1749, but I was a great fan of the series and this film will hopefully end my unintentional hiatus.  I wonder how the film version will differ – what if it’s been given a Hollywood makeover?  Will the Lord Grantham be abducted by aliens?  Will Matthew and Sybil crawl out of their graves?  Is Mrs Patmore, the cook, really the superhero “Spud Woman”?  Will it end with a karate fight between The Dowager Countess and Carson, the Butler?  I hope so.

Well done to Julian Fellowes for writing Downton Abbey (and Belgravia which is a very good novel).  I’ll not mention that I thought Gosford Park, which he also wrote, was really boring.
